Where simple tasks are accomplished to purrrfection

We first became interested in the Maine Coon breed in 2003 when searching for a cat breed that would compliment the temperament of our Ragdolls which we have been breeding for several years. We thank Joan Benson who has assisted us on this wonderful journey with our Maine Coons. Our beautiful Maine Coons have amazing personalities as well as the large size and the magnificent bushy tails they are renowned for. All our cats are much loved pets having the run of our home and us as their slaves.

The Maine Coon is a solid, rugged cat and is America's oldest natural longhaired breed.
Type must not be sacrificed for size, nor size for type. The optimum being a large cat. Females are slightly smaller than males and allowances should be made for the slow maturation of this breed [somewhat like a good bottle of red wine!].

The Maine Coons have a variety of colours and patterns, including solids, tabby's and torties, all gorgeous of course!! Loving, gentle and very affectionate chatterboxes they make great family pets, playing catch, fetch & chase. Maine Coons thrive on human company, seeking you out to lie at your feet, or just to share the same room.

The Maine Coon is extremely smart and will make a terrific pet if raised correctly in a caring and loving home environment, which ensures maximum social skills with exceptional, loving, self confident personalities. Chestnut Hill Maine Coon kittens are raised in our home not in outside cattery cages.

Have you read the book 'That Yankie Cat' by Marilis Hornidge ? We recommend it, the book is informative, technical and narrative, offering a far better explanation of the merits of the Maine Coon than we could ever do. Here is a small selection of our observations on this magnificent feline;

· They are large and imposing
· Beautiful, graceful and very agile, just watch one jumping or hunting.
· They are hardy, look at the coat, furry feet and the magnificent tail
· They are good natured, relaxed and very accepting of other animals and people
Although they tend to love their owners above all !!!

All our breeding felines are tested for HCM & HD.
